In Senegal

THE TALIBÉ
BOYS.

The Talibé boys are victims of a legal form of human trafficking in Senegal. As young as three years old, children are given to Koranic "teachers" who then send them to the streets to beg for money. If they don't return with enough, strict punishment awaits.

We partner with the Keur Bethanie center in Ziguinchor, led by Aïda, to provide a sanctuary for approximately 250 of these boys. Around 40 boys visit daily to receive food, showers, first aid, and education.
