Board Members

At L'Amour À la Croix, we believe that God has called us to deeply value relationships. He promises that where two or more are gathered in His name, He is there with them. This belief is central to our mission and vision. It’s also why we are organized with a board of directors to lead us, ensuring that we are guided by collective wisdom and a shared commitment to our calling.

Below you can learn more about each member of our board. If you have any questions about our leadership structure or accountability, feel free to reach out.

Craig Timmerman

Jeremy “Craig” Timmerman is an American that hails from South Carolina. He was not always following in God’s will. In 2017 he had a dream that forever changed his life. He was in Africa, playing soccer with kids and teaching them about Jesus. A few months later he dropped everything to follow that call leaving behind his atheist/buddhist beliefs. He met his wife Océane on the mission field and is now living out that dream in Ziguinchor, Senegal with their daughter. His heart is to make Jesus known in a more practical way. Through acts of service and love. Becoming a servant to the needs of those around him to show the people of Senegal just how much God loves them. His heart thrives for all people to know Christ, however his more specified vision is for women and children who are in desperate situations.

Océane Timmerman

Océane Eleonor Timmerman is Craig’s wife and she hails from the north of France. Together they have a beautiful daughter “Ariella” who is now two years old. In 2017, Craig and Océane went completed their Discipleship Training school through Youth With A Mission. This school trained them on how to pursue God’s will in their everyday live. Since then, she has been in pursuit of what God has put on her heart, to help the needs of others (especially women and children at risk) through acts of love and service. Océane is also trained to work in hospitals for children in France. This helps as she pursues different ministry opportunities through health care with expected mothers and children. Océane and Craig are on the ground in Ziguinchor, Senegal. They have plenty of projects to accomplish through this association.

Justin Smith

Justin is originally from Florida, but now resides in South Caroline. He met Craig and Océane while helping with the Youth With a Mission discipleship training school that they attended in France in 2017. Justin has a heart and a passion for missions and specifically for helping to bring Christ's freedom to those in bondage. His testimony of how God changed his life includes seeing God's freedom first hand in a very deep way. Justin is also passionate about teaching people about God as our Father and what that means in our lives on a daily basis. He is currently working on several projects, including supporting L'Amour À la Croix, all designed to build God's kingdom in partnership with Him.

Pauline Dehesdin

Pauline is originally from France, she is 29 years old, married, and has two children aged 1 and 4. She has worked for several years with children in hospitals and daycares. She also has a degree and experience in the field of human resources. For many years, Pauline has had a heart for Christians around the world, especially children. She believes that childhood is an important period and that it is during this time that the right foundations must be laid. For her, if we teach children who Jesus is, then they will know throughout their lives that they have a heavenly Father and a rock to shelter under during difficult times. Being part of this association means being able to participate by sharing love, hope, and essential foundations with the children of Senegal.
